Under Power Management the adapter is set to Do not allow the PC to turn off this device to save power. At other times it'll work for a couple of hours before disconnecting. I usually literally have to run the troubleshooter several times to get a minute of internet. I'm not a techie, so any tips would be much appreciated. Yesterday it was resetting "Adapter 3", but today it's resetting "Adapter 4". I then usually have access for a few more seconds before the connection is lost and I have to run the troubleshooter again. I run the troubleshooter and it always resets the network adapter, then either fixes the default gateway or fixes the "doesn't have a valid IP". Sometimes the Wi-Fi icon says I'm connected, other times it doesn't, but the internet never works for more than a few seconds. Hi there, this is not actually a laptop problem - it's a desktop PC connecting via an access point.Įvery time I start the PC I have to run the Windows network connection troubleshooter.
